The State is deferred the mandatory certification of cash register software to September 1, 2026
The tax authority has formalized a new deadline: the NF525 certification of cash register software will only be mandatory from September 1, 2026.
Until that date, retailers can continue to use their current solution, provided that it meets current requirements.
The key steps
- August 2025 → Publishers must be engaged with a certification body
- March 2026 → Originally scheduled date for entry into force
- September 1, 2026 → New official date when NF525 certification becomes mandatory
What this means in practice for a merchant
- You can continue to use the Tunder app as it complies with current legislation.
- In the event of a tax audit, the administration may ask for proof that your Tunder cash register is in fact committed to the NF525 process.
- From September 1, 2026, cash register software must have a certificate issued by an accredited body (INFOCERT).
Situation of Tunder
Tunder is already officially committed to the NF525 certification process with an accredited organization.
In the event of an audit, retailers using Tunder can present our commitment certificate as justification.
In summary
- NF525 certification becomes mandatory On September 1, 2026
- The deferral does not change the current obligations of traders
- Tunder is already committed to the NF525 approach
- Tunder users can present the commitment certificate In case of control
