Use a card reader with Tunder
Tunder does not connect to card readers yet: here is how to take payments with yours.
Tunder does not offer a direct connection with card readers yet.
You are free to use the terminal of your choice, for example the one from your bank or your payment provider. You simply enter the amount twice: in Tunder, then on the reader.
Take payments with your card reader
The card reader stays independent of Tunder. Tunder records the sale and the payment type; the reader takes the card payment.
Confirm the order in the app
Add the items to the ticket, then tap the checkout button to go to payment. The total to pay is displayed.
Choose the card payment type
Select the payment type you use for bank cards.
- You set it up in the app: ☰, Settings, General tab, “Payment types”. A payment type can have the type “Bank card”.
- In the back-office (admin.tunder.co): Settings, General tab, “Payment types”.
- The top two payment types in the list are directly accessible on the payment page.
Enter the amount on the reader
Type on the reader the same amount as the one shown in Tunder. This is the double entry: Tunder does not send it to the reader.
Have your customer pay, then finish the sale
Once the reader accepts the payment, finish the sale in Tunder. The ticket keeps a record of the card payment.
Warning. Since Tunder is not linked to the reader, check that both amounts are identical before your customer pays.
