The device limit has been reached
Why you see this message, and how to free a slot, add a device or switch devices without losing your data.
This message appears when your account can't take one more device. There are two situations: you are on the free version, or you have reached the number of devices in your Premium subscription.
This article explains the cause, then shows you how to free a slot, add a device or transfer your data to a new device.
Why you see this message
Free version: one device only
With the free version of Tunder, your account is linked to a single device. Changing phone, deleting the app or signing out does not free the slot: the account stays linked to the old device.
Premium: the number of devices in your subscription
You have reached the number of devices that can be connected at the same time under your subscription. For example, with a 2-device subscription you can connect 2 at once. To connect a third one, you need a 3-device subscription.
Switching devices without a subscription
Transferring your data (sales, items, settings) to another device is a Premium feature. Without a subscription, you can either keep using the old device, or start from scratch with a new shop.
Switch devices and keep your data (Premium)
You do this part in the app. The Premium subscription lets you swap from one device to another without limit.
Subscribe to Premium
On the device that shows the message, choose the Premium subscription when the app offers it.
- No commitment: you can cancel at any time.
- You then set the number of devices in the app, under Settings, then Subscription.
Tap “Transfer your data”
The screen shows the previous device (shop, gross sales, number of sales, items) and the new device. Start the transfer: your data is restored on the new device.
Sign back in on the new device
Sign in with the same account. If needed, turn off demo mode to see your real data.
- Your sales, items and settings are kept.
Free or add a slot from the app
The screens are those of the Tunder app on a phone or tablet.
Read the two choices on the screen
If the message appears when you sign in, the “You've reached your devices limit” screen offers two options.
- Add one device: adds one more device to your shop, by upgrading your subscription.
- Disconnect one device: you stay under the limit by disconnecting one of the devices already connected.
To free a slot: disconnect a device
Choose “Disconnect one device”, then the device to disconnect, and tap “Disconnect”. You can also do it from the app: Settings, then Devices.
- The disconnected device is logged out from Tunder: it no longer syncs.
- You can't disconnect the device you are using.
To add a slot: upgrade the subscription
Choose “Add one device”, or open Settings, then Subscription, and add devices to your subscription.
- Subscription bought on the Tunder website: the app opens your online subscription area.
- On the free version: the app first shows you the Premium offer.
- You can change this number at any time.
Free or add a slot from the back-office
The back-office is at admin.tunder.co, on a computer. Sign in with your shop's account.
Open the device list
In the left menu, click Settings, then Devices. For each device, the list shows its number, its app version and its status (owner or guest).
To free a slot: disconnect a device
On the device's row, click ⋮ then “Disconnect”, and confirm.
- The device is disconnected from all your shops, not only the one shown.
- To reconnect it, you will need to add it again with a code.
To add a device: click “Add device”
If your subscription's limit is reached, the back-office says so: “You have reached the maximum number of devices of your subscription.”
- Subscription bought on the Tunder website: you can upgrade the subscription from the window. It shows the amount to pay.
- Subscription bought on the App Store or Google Play: add the slot from the app, under Settings, Devices, with the + button, and confirm the payment with the store.
- Subscription handled by Tunder: contact support to change the subscription.
