How to reset your PIN code
Forgot your PIN code? Reset it from the app, or change it from the back-office.
The PIN code protects access to your register. If you have forgotten it, you can ask for a new one from the app: Tunder sends an email to the account administrator.
You can also change a profile's code from the back-office (on a computer). Pick the app or the back-office below.
Reset the PIN code from the app
You need an internet connection. The email goes to the account administrator's address, not to the phone's.
Open the PIN code screen
This is the screen where the app asks you to enter your PIN code.
- If you get it wrong too many times, Tunder shows “Too many attempts. access blocked for 5 minutes. Please reset the PIN code or contact the account administrator.”
Tap “Forgot PIN code?”
The button is below the keypad. A “Reset PIN code” window opens.
- What the window says: “To reset the PIN, a confirmation email will be sent to the account owner.”
- The administrator's address is shown partly masked: this is the one you will have to open in the next step.
Tap “Send email”
The “Email sent” message confirms it.
- If the email did not go out: Tunder shows “Email not sent” and asks you to check your internet connection. Reconnect, then try again.
Open the “Reset PIN code” email
Check the account administrator's inbox. The email shows the device and the date of the request. Tap the “Generate a new PIN code” button.
- The link is active for 12 hours. After that, the page says it has expired: request a new email from the app.
- Can't find the email? Check your spam folder. If the account was created with “Sign in with Apple”, the address may be a private Apple address: see the article on the Apple (Private Relay) email.
Read your new PIN code
A page shows “Here is your new PIN code”. Write it down, then tap “Open the app”.
- On your devices: the new code is updated on all internet-connected devices.
- If the page shows “Your new PIN code will be displayed soon” and does not change: send the email again from the app. If the problem continues, forward the email you received to support (support@tunder.co): the code can be sent to you by hand.
Change a profile's PIN code from the back-office
The back-office is at admin.tunder.co. Sign in with your shop's account.
Open “User management”
In the left menu, click Settings, General tab, then “User management”.
Click the profile
In the Users tab, click the profile's name. The “PIN code” column shows whether the code is enabled or disabled.
- Premium: users and roles are a Premium feature. With a free account, only the profile created with the shop can be opened.
Enter the new code
In the form, the “PIN code” field shows the current code. Replace it with a 4-digit code.
- Four digits: the field only accepts digits. Otherwise the form shows “PIN code must be 4 digits” and does not save.
- Enable PIN code: this switch asks for the code when opening a session on the register. When it is off, the code field disappears.
Click “Save”
The new code is saved in the profile.
- On your registers: the change appears at their next sync.
